To enable Magento 2 Visual Merchandiser, just install the extension and go to any product category to adjust its merchandising. When the module is installed, it automatically replaces the Magento default product merchandising. This way, all further settings can be configured inside the categories according to your goals. With the Magento 2 Visual Merchandiser plugin, you are able to create various catalog pages with any sorting order you need. To create a new category or edit the existing one, go to Admin Panel → Catalog → Categories.
Magento 2 Visual Merchandiser enhances the visual merchandising of your online store and solves several problems. In particular, it helps to draw attention to products, provide maximum information about the product, helps to sell overstocked goods, draw attention to new products, and most importantly - increases sales of your store in general.
You can use Magento visual product configurator directly within categories to add, remove, or sort products. Additionally, you may set conditions based on the attributes to display only the desired group of products. In case Magento visual merchandiser is not working, ensure all indexes are set to the same update mode (either 'Update On Save' or 'Update on Schedule'). Otherwise, changes made to categories will not appear on the frontend. You can check and adjust all index update modes in the Index Management Grid located at System → Tools → Index Management.

- Product works, but has flawsWe are using this product for a while now. The good of the product is that it really works user friendly. It's really easy to set up conditions. There are however 2 very big downsides. It's not possible to use the attribute that is used to create simple products under a configurable product. In other words, if you sell t-shirts in different sizes. You might want to set up a categorie page with only t-shirts in size S. This is not possible. The second problem is related to the logic of the extension. The module invalidates the text associated with the catalog search. This invalidates the product index. Because of this, the cache of the product needs to be refreshed. This triggers the categorie pages, which need to be refreshed as well. Long story short, the module index must be set on "on save". But this creates another set of issues. The product idea is perfect, but there are some hard flaws. Customer support told me that they will look into it, but not on short term. When these issues are solved, it's a 5 star product that saves you a lot of time.
