From the admin panel, you can conveniently view and manage all the quote requests in a grid. Accept or cancel a quote, filter by status or expiry date, create a new one on behalf of a customer. Access any quote to view details and edit.

Check customer information

Check customer info before making a decision regarding the quote submission: evaluate when the account was created and how much the customer spent during that time. Set the quote expiry date and a reminder to fasten the customer’s buying decision. You can convert a quote into the Magento 2 order right from the quote editing page. Also you can download the quote in PDF and auto attach it to the approved quote customer notification.

Customize pricing offer

Approve the prices asked by a customer or set your custom prices. View the product cost column to see the difference between requested price and product’s cost. Magento 2 Quote Extension also allows you to set an additional discount or surcharge, which will be applied to the whole quote. Complement the quote with your remarks to keep up a dialog with a customer.

Adjust shipping options

How to create a quote system in Magento 2?

Install and enable the Magento 2 Request a Quote extension.
Go to Stores → Configuration → Amasty Extensions → Request a Quote.
In the General tab, enable the Add to Quote button on the product and category page, disable quotation for specific categories, and allow quote requests for certain customer groups.
Set the Allow to change Price in Quote Cart and Approve Quotes Automatically fields to Yes to enable auto-approve of quotes.

Then enter the discount amount in the “if Quote Discount is Less than (%)” field.
Choose the needed Cost Attribute and move to the Expiration & Reminder tab.
In the Quote Expiration field, set default quote lifetime.
Set the period after which the Magento 2 email reminder about quote expiration will be sent.
Set up Admin and Customer Notifications.
Save the changes.

How to configure quote lifetime in Magento 2?

Log in to the admin panel and navigate to Stores → Settings → Configuration.
Open the Sales tab and click Checkout.
In the Shopping Cart section, find the Quote Lifetime (days) field and enter the needed value.
In the Use In Layered Navigation dropdown, choose between Filterable (with results) and Filterable (no results).

We are using Request a Quote extension about 4 weeks. We needed ability to hide prices on some products, this evolved to needing a quotation system. Site is still in development, so far has exceeded our expectations.Some extension are difficult to integrate to a custom theme. This Amasty installation was effortless and quite efficient. Support was fast and efficient. I would recommend this extension to anyone who has special items where it is necessary to hide the price. The Hide Price extension by itself does this, but the ability to supply and manage quotes allows us to add another layer of interaction and keep the customer engaged.

First, you give control to buyers - they can talk the price over and buy. And then, you also lose nothing - you can see all requests in admin and reject not reasonable ones. Even if you sell cheaper - still you sell, so rev goes up. I think also it’ll be good for reputation, we’ll check this soon. :)
