What is Magento reward points?

Magento 2 Reward Points extension allows the admin to reward its customers with loyalty cashback points. Customers can earn the reward points in multiple ways and redeem them in the store. Also the admin can set the value of each reward point.

How to enable Magento reward points?

If you are using Magento 2 Commerce edition, this feature is available out-of-box. To enable it, go to Stores -> Settings -> Configuration -> Customers -> Reward Points and set the Enable Reward Points Functionality and Enable Reward Points Functionality on Storefront fields to Yes.
Fill in other settings according to your business needs, and configure Actions for Acquiring Reward Points by Customers and Email Notifications.
Don’t forget to save the changes.

If you want to use Magento loyalty points in the Open Source edition, you need to install a 3rd party extension like Amasty Reward Points.
After enabling the module, you will be able to create rules for the automatic accrual of Magento 2 customer rewards, make refunds with reward points, and analyze statistical data.

I’m using this module from the very start. At first it was just ok, good choice among other products of the kind. But with time it really has got much better. Their team really monitors users’ feedbacks and these guys are very fast in solving troubles. For me all updates came very handy. They added one more just some days ago. Now I can reward points for reviews. I already contacted my regulars about writing these reviews. They also added information section in the backend. So I can go to user guide and check for updates right from admin.

I should say they have cool support. I just installed the module 3 months ago, and I spotted a problem. I noticed some customers don’t actually buy. They get reward points for sign up, subscription, birthday, etc. They wait till they gather many points and buy a product paying with this mock money. I reported this immediately, and it was fixed fast. Now I can set a limit of point use per order. Customers get discounts but they still pay. Good job, team.

No doubt it’s a good buy efficient and customers love the reward points. Sometimes they really buy more because of rewards. But some people here say it’s easy to run and understand. I tried many times, I studied all available resources, I contacted the support, they explained, but I still stumble non-stop. Ok, I activate default rewards but I can’t start my own so I had to buy the installation and extend the support licence...

I love this product but there is a problem. I give reward points to pay for orders but customers complain that discounts are smaller than claimed. It’s usually not big amount, up to $5. But I promise a discount and they get nothing. I even set up test customer accounts to see how it works. And I found what it’s about taxation. Please let count discount after taxation, not by default before. Customers need to know how much to pay.

So about module: it’s great. Most of all I like that I can see all the rewards activated on one grid. I can trace them all and nothing gets lost. Also I like that I can start my own rewards, not just default ones. It gives much flexibility. In my toy shop these custom rewards work very well. Parents buy more because we give some cute toys for reward points and for birthdays also.

I didn’t believe much in success because I had module like that from another vendor. And it was mostly painful. There were 8 default reward schemes and you could not change them, only give different amount of points. But even that module worked, customers came and stayed a bit more. Here it’s all different. There are default options and custom options too. Functionality is all cool. The only problem is that it’s very hard to understand. I asked support, they are really helpful, but I still cannot manage all by myself.

This module helps manage lots of rewards, keep customers happy and even save up a bit on promotions. But recently I’ve come across a small issue. If a person is a first-time buyer who’s just registered an account, can he make a purchase using his bonus points? I think it’s wrong, because such customers haven’t yet spent a penny. But it’s possible with this module, hope it’ll be fixed.

Totally love this module it’s easy to understand and has detailed guides. I used from first the available rewards options and then I decided to expand. So, I added rule wedding with +20 points and a small gift for two. Really works same way as promotions. They added more languages recently, so now I can use espanol for clientes.

I’m using this extension about 2 months and it’s a good helper. It really works like promotions, with the same logic, just a bit easier to run. I extensively use their default rewards and also I started 2 rewards of my own. Also, I find the possibility to add and deduct points in the backend very helpful. We had a situation when a girl won the prom beauty contest, and she bought all makeup and hair styling items here! This deserves +50 points that I easily added.
