What is Elastic Search indexing in Magento 2?

Magento 2 Elasticsearch autocomplete feature allows to speed up the searching experience and show relevant results in the autocomplete window. This feature also eliminates the need to correct the text of a search query, which leads to a waste of time and effort - time that could instead be spent researching the products of interest.
Magento 2 Elasticsearch module allows you to implement smart search in your store, which helps to increase conversions, transactions, and revenues because the search in online stores is used by the most valuable and grateful audience. Magento elastic search has a need for the product and a desire to buy it.
Elasticsearch is used as a search engine in Magento. Since Magento 2.4, Elasticsearch is a required component and installation of Magento without Elasticsearch is not possible. To integrate Magento with Elasticsearch, the following steps are needed: install proper version of Elasticsearch on the server.
In Elasticsearch Server Hostname, enter the fully qualified hostname or IP address of the server that is running the Magento 2 Elasticsearch. In Elasticsearch Server Port, enter the Magento 2 Elasticsearch server proxy port. If '9200' does not work for you, try '8080'
- The basic mechanism is as follows: Magento makes a request to Elasticsearch to find matching product ids. Based on the results from Elasticsearch, Magento loads the products from standard MySQL database (and may apply additional filters at this point) Data from MySQL is displayed on the frontend.
